What is ...
Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) allows all delegates at a meeting to understand what is being said, no matter what their native language is. Teams of interpreters listen to the speaker, provide an interpretation of what has just been said, and continue interpreting until the speaker has finished. This allows all delegates to hear the speech at the same time in their native language, allowing an uninterrupted conference to take place as if all delegates were speaking only one language. A good simultaneous interpretation system must allow all interpreters to hear the speaker at the same time, without adding extra complexity to the meeting.
Infracom allows interpreters to perform their vitally important task with the minimum of external equipment, allowing meetings to be rapidly and simply set up. It uses wireless infra-red transmitters and headsets to instantly relay the speaker to all interpreters, without any need for external cabling. All systems are installed, operated and removed by our own highly trained technicians. Our service includes the provision of portable ISO approved interpreters booths and all other necessary items of interpretation equipment. Expert assistance in obtaining visual aids is also available. Infracom is available either for sale or hire. We can also organise interpreters for rental events, providing a complete, fuss-free end-to-end service.
Brähler ICS also offers a small portable system called Infoport, which is ideal for short duration events or tours. Infoport may also be used to supplement a full SI system when a small delegation is added at short notice.
For permanent installations where delegates will remain in a fixed location, we offer Multicom, a modular wire-operated SI system.
